Places To Visit

Knaresborough Castle & Museum - Knaresborough is absolutely stunning for those who have never been before. Go and explore, boutique shops, cobbled streets, gorgeous river side cafes. Swimming for children and very close by, soft play too. The ravens, up at Knaresborough Castle itself, have a story.. explore. Take a taxi or bus back to us at Kingfisher, which stop at our entrance, on request.

 

Waterside Cafes & Rowing Boats - The river Nidd is shimmering in the summer sun. Take a rowing boat out and enjoy it with the family. Or.. later in the day.. it makes for a romantic date, enjoying the gorge, with the 'Worlds End' tavern to greet you afterwards.

 

Mother Shiptons Cave - normal items turned to stone, in a waterfall. Is it true?! What is the legend?! Come back to reception and tell me!

 

Valley Gardens Harrogate - the famous spa town where you can relax in the renouned stylish suana baths, with massage included, if booked in advance. Enjoy the theatre, cinema, abundance of boutiques and an amazing choice of places to dine. Valley Gardens itself is perfect for a relaxed time with children enjoying a double icecream! Indulgence! 

 

Nidd Gorge - Beautiful Woodland Walking. Dogs love Nidd Gorge too!

 

Staveley Nature Reserve - with the Royal Oak near by. Other great pub/restaurants near us are The Guy Fawkes (1 mile walking distance but please book in advance.)

 The Malt Shovel, Braerton. The Blue Bell, Arkendale. Our manager recommends Italian: Two Bothers Grill and Pizzeria in Knaresborough. Perfect if you are arriving late on a Friday or Saturday afternoon. 

 

Brimham Rocks - A short drive away (19 mins/ 10.4miles: according to Google maps) in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales. Perfect to combine with a relax in the town of Pateley Bridge. Coldstone cuts and the further afield reservoirs of Glasshouses, Gouthwaite and Scar House make for a perfect day or two out.

 

National Railway Museum York - there is a park and ride service to access the old city walls, amazing shopping, cafes and the chocolat tour. York is a prestigious old city reaped with history to explore. From the Minster Tours, to the Ouse Cruise, Enjoy the York City experience.

 

Fountains Abbey- National Heritage protect the important buildings. If you hold a membership we recommend Fountains Abbey with its unique history and amazing grounds. Truely striking.

 

Kingfisher Caravan Park is a great base for hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. Kamoot is a fantastic App, to explore hiking and biking routes, from Kingfisher Caravan Park.  Google before you arrive and book activities, or ask at reception, remember great activities get booked up early.
